Friends,
Why am I running?
Selecting a new Superintendent, working with current budget shortfalls, participating in the ongoing process of “to build or not to build” a new Andover High School, and first hand experience in the collective bargaining process. This is why I am running for office.
I have participated in the process of selecting a new Superintendent as a former School Committee member and as a high school principal. As the School Committee moves forward in selecting a new Superintendent, my experience can be of use in securing the person that is the best fit for Andover.
My professional experience with site-based management and developing a high school and system-wide budget can assist our school committee during the current budget shortfall.
I had the honor of serving with two other educators during my three years on the Andover School Committee. At the time, some Andover residents thought that a majority of teachers on the board would “give away the store”, but those unfounded fears were dispelled by careful and respectful deliberations during the collective bargaining process. I will deliver no less, and I will seek decisions that best serve the Town of Andover.
I have been involved in multiple school building projects during my career. As we look to the future of AHS, I fully support working within the reimbursement process of the Massachusetts School Building Authority. I did not and will not ever vote to have the Town fully fund any school building process that does not incorporate the Massachusetts School Building Authority.
I look forward to answering your questions and sharing my experience as we move forward in this Townwide election.
Experience matters,
Tim McCarron, M.Ed.
